Where following Jesus means loving God and loving our neighbors.
Meet Our Staff
Pastor Nancy Fraley
I’m excited to join you as your interim pastor as you discern what the future holds for you in this time of on-going change. My name is Rev. Nancy Fraley and I graduated from Chicago Theological Seminary. I have spent 8 of the last 9 1/2 years as a chaplain in the nursing home of a suburban Continuing Care Community where I also maintained their medical records department. I enjoy meeting people, so I welcome the chance to get to know all of you. The last year and a half, I have enjoyed doing pulpit supply for churches in the Fox Valley and Prairie Associations and seeing how different churches are.
I have 2 adult, married children with 5 grandchildren between them, the youngest one is 16 (they grow so fast!) My daughter, Adrienne and her family live in Elburn and my son, Eric lives in Corpus Christi, Texas. My ex died in 2002. I share my home with 2 rescue cats, Samson who is 20 years old and Sophie who is 17 years old. Their personalities are complete opposite, Samson being the curious one and Sophie is shy. They make me laugh and love to snuggle, especially when it’s cold.
I love nature and am an amateur crafter. I like to read and also listen to an eclectic mixture of music. I am a curious person and like to discover new things. It’s a pleasure to be here and I hope this will be an interesting and exciting journey for all of us.
I am the secretary for St. Paul’s Hinckley UCC. I have a husband, 2 kids, 3 dogs, and at times various other pets. In the past I have worked using my BS in Computer Science, doing web development and software development for the City of St. Charles and CIDnet software. When I had my oldest, I took a break from the workforce for a while and was then given the opportunity to work for the church.
Outside of work, I am a homeschooling mom and a small business owner. I love to explore nature with my family and spend time outdoors. I also love to find learning opportunities all around us. I dabble in a variety of arts including basketry, needle felting, woodworking, painting, and 3d printing. I sell some of these items through Jumbled Chaos Creations, which I run with my Husband. My hobbies also include fencing and gardening.

He is pursuing his master's degree in Jazz Studies at NIU, where he also teaches lessons and works as an assistant in the Large Ensemble Office. Beginning in fall semester 2022, Austyn will serve as a graduate assistant at NIU, teaching an introductory group piano course and directing the University Jazz Ensemble.
Austyn has had the great pleasure of playing with groups including Dave Stamps’ MODx big band, active in the Twin Cities area; the Blueshift Big Band led by Joel Baer and Chris Parsons, active in the Chicago area; and is an active member of IRIS, a quintet led by Arman Sangalang. In July of 2022, IRIS attended the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy after having been selected alongside three other groups from the United States. He intends to expand his career as a sideman and educator.
In his teaching, Austyn emphasizes playing healthily and mindfully as well as practicing technical exercises creatively and intentionally to inform the mind and music, a combination of approaches inspired by his former instructors Paul Baumgartner and Masayoshi Ishikawa.
